Ingredients:
- Gluten-free hot dog sausages
- Gluten-free hot dog buns
- String cheese (make sure it’s gluten-free)
- Mustard or ketchup (optional, for eyes)
- Cooking spray or oil for baking
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Hot Dogs:
- If your gluten-free hot dog sausages are not pre-cooked, you’ll need to cook them according to the package instructions. Most gluten-free hot dogs are precooked, so you may only need to warm them up.
- Create the Mummy Wraps:
- While the hot dogs are cooking, take the gluten-free hot dog buns and slice them into thin strips. These strips will be used to wrap the hot dogs to make them look like mummies.
- Wrap the Hot Dogs:
- Once your hot dogs are cooked and slightly cooled, take a strip of the gluten-free hot dog bun and wrap it around the sausage, leaving a small gap near the top for the “face.” Make sure to leave some gaps and openings to resemble the wrappings of a mummy. Don’t worry about making it perfect; the messier, the spookier!
- Bake:
- Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. This prevents them from sticking.
- Lightly spray or brush the tops of the buns with a small amount of cooking spray or oil. This gives them a golden, crispy finish when baked.
- Bake in the Oven:
- Bake the mummy hot dogs in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the buns turn a light golden brown and the sausages are heated through.
- Create Mummy Eyes:
- Once your mummy hot dogs are out of the oven, you can add eyes to make them more adorable (or spooky). You can use mustard or ketchup to create eyes on the “face” part of each mummy.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve your gluten-free mummy hot dogs with your favorite Halloween sides, and watch as everyone enjoys unwrapping their spooky meal.
