A good fruit smoothie is a formula, not a recipe: one frozen fruit, one fresh fruit, a liquid, and something creamy. This version is the reliable house blend — thick, cold, naturally gluten-free, and ready before the toast pops.

Yield: 2 large smoothies · Time: 5 min

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1–2 tsp honey, to taste
  • Squeeze of lime

Directions

  1. Add the liquid to the blender first, then yogurt, fresh fruit, and frozen fruit on top.
  2. Blend from low to high until completely smooth, about 45 seconds.
  3. Taste and adjust with honey or lime, thin with a splash more milk if needed, and pour.

Pro tip: If you add any granola or mix-ins on top, make sure they’re labeled gluten-free — the smoothie itself already is.

Gluten-Free Notes

A quick label-reading reminder: scan ingredient lists for wheat, barley, rye, and malt, and look for a gluten-free claim on anything processed. When a label is unclear, the manufacturer’s website usually settles it.
