Gluten-Free Breakfast Guide
Fall Margarita
A margarita doesn’t have to retire after summer. Swap in fresh apple cider and a cinnamon-sugar rim and you get a shaker-cold cocktail that tastes like an orchard trip — tart, warming, and dangerously easy to repeat.
Yield: 1 cocktail · Time: 5 min
Ingredients
- 2 oz blanco or reposado tequila
- 1 1/2 oz fresh apple cider
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur or triple sec
- 1/4 oz maple syrup
- Cinnamon sugar and a lime wedge for the rim
- Apple slice and cinnamon stick to garnish
Directions
- Rub the rim of a rocks glass with the lime wedge and dip it in cinnamon sugar.
- Shake the tequila, cider, lime juice, orange liqueur, and maple syrup hard with ice for 15 seconds.
- Strain over fresh ice and garnish with the apple slice and cinnamon stick.
Pro tip: Distilled spirits like tequila are gluten-free, but flavored liqueurs vary — check the label on your orange liqueur if you are highly sensitive.
