Iced Tequila (Citrus Tequila Cooler)

Sometimes the drink you want is barely a recipe: good tequila over a tower of ice, flooded with fresh citrus and sparkling water. It’s lighter than a margarita, naturally gluten-free, and built for porch weather.
Yield: 1 tall drink · Time: 5 min
Ingredients
- 2 oz blanco tequila
- 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz agave syrup
- Sparkling water to top
- Pinch of salt
- Lime wheel and grapefruit twist to garnish
Directions
- Fill a highball glass to the top with ice.
- Add tequila, both juices, agave, and the salt pinch; stir 10 seconds.
- Top with sparkling water, garnish, and serve with a straw.
Pro tip: The tiny pinch of salt isn’t a gimmick — it rounds the grapefruit’s bitterness like a rim would, without the mess.
